The Build Breakdown

Cigar 30 had asked us to build them a fully functional e-commerce store on a platform that would allow for the sale of cigars and cigar-related products. This website would have to be lawfully compliant and give them the ability to ship across the entire United States. It would also need to be aesthetically pleasing and compliment the brand as a whole. So PlumBum Content Creation did just that.

 

Age Verification

Because you have to be 21+ to purchase any sort of tobacco product, PlumBum Content Creation added a pop-up age verification for persons entering the website.

If the user clicks that they’re over 21 they will be allowed to enter the site. However, if they click that they are under that age they will be immediately redirected and not allowed to enter.

This creates a clear and compliant way for Cigar 30 to protect itself from selling to anyone that is under the legal age. It also helps persons that are under age exit the website swiftly before they are exposed to any tobacco products.

 

Incorporated Branding

Cigar 30 wanted us to design a website that was an online representation of their brand. In that, we used their brand colors, fonts, and photos to create an aesthetically pleasing design.

Not only do we incorporate their branding but we also use their “tone of voice” when creating the copy for the website. This helps the user feel like they are speaking directly to the brand representatives themselves.

PlumBum Content Creation also added a blog, social media links, and newsletter sign-up section to keep Cigar 30’s clients informed and connected with the brand.

 

POS System Sync

One of the keys to the entire process was to ensure that Cigar 30’s inventory was synced with their POS system. This meant that as soon as someone would purchase a cigar in-store, the online store would be updated with that change in inventory as well.

PlumBum Content Creation also had to ensure that the products would be listed in a user-friendly and well-organized manner. To help with that, we created sections for “Most Popular Products”, “Featured Products”, and “New Products”.

 

Other Cool Things

When we build a website, we make sure to go above and beyond for our customers. We do that by going the extra mile in the internal and external construction of the website. Check out some of the other cool things we did to make Cigar 30’s website the best cigar website around.

 
  • Not only can customers view their high quality product photos on the website, but the magnifying tool allows users to see the fine details of Cigar 30’s products.

  • Under product listings, customers can now see what other people have viewed on the website. This creates a great customer journey as well as another lead path for a sale.

  • Customers can now see what items are running low which may help them make the decision to purchase. No one wants to miss out and these “Left In Stock” tags create a sense of urgency that leads the customer to a faster checkout.
